Good Governance
KIYO is an accredited Belgian NGO registered under Belgian law as non-profit (‘VZW’ or ‘ASBL’). We have over 40 years experience in strengthening the lives of children and youth. KIYO has a highly motivated team, a passionate General Assembly and a dynamic Governance Board. We are an authentic organisation putting youth participation at the centre of our work. As we want to keep a close connection with our target group, many of our team members are below 35 years old and youth are also represented in our board and general assembly.
In 2016 the Belgian government (through the consultancy agency Deloitte) screened all Belgian NGOs on their governance and management. KIYO achieved a good result and has been recognised since as “programme NGO” for the next ten years, allowing us to apply for long-term funding from the government.
General Assembly
KIYO's General Assembly consists of more than 30 dynamic members with experience within the non-profit, public and private sector. The Assembly meets twice a year. Besides the statutory part, it actively seeks input from members on thematic, financial or organisational issues.
