KIYO develops quality learning environments that support youth in…

  • discovering and developing their talents and potential;
  • becoming aware of their rights and being able to claim them;
  • actively shaping their own future;
  • contributing to a more just and sustainable world.

On the one hand we develop these learning environments ourselves and on the other hand we support and reinforce 15 local partners across five countries with specific expertise on youth empowerment. We actively learn from each other on how to create enabling environments in which all children and youth can participate and feel physically, socially and emotionally safe by strengthening skills, knowledge and networks.

Together we support the personal development of youth through inclusive theatre arts, radio programmes or social circus. We support quality education by building a school culture that embraces children's rights and focuses on youth participation. We increase their employment opportunities by teaching them valuable life and technical skills. We promote active citizenship of youth by connecting and inspiring them with other youth around the world.
