Circus4Climate, it’s a wrap!

25 youth from Guinea, Burundi and Belgium stepped into an experimental project together with KIYO this October. For one week, they shared joys and sorrows during an intensive programme around circus and climate. With the content expertise of GoodPlanet Belgium and under the artistic direction of Ell Circo D'ell Fuego, this fantastic group created a spectacular performance. Throughout the week, focus, commitment, connection and openness were central.

And you could feel that during the performances. On Friday the 25th they debuted with a school performance where they animated 330 students. The students afterwards said it was the best day of the school year for them. On Saturday the 26th, during the performance for the general audience, the power of art was once again highlighted. People were touched and felt the connection, the youthful infectious energy and the hope of the youth.

The youth shone an inspiring, critical and hopeful light on the climate debate. The experiment was more than successful! The young performers mainly learned from each other, during the training sessions but certainly also outside. They surprised themselves with their abilities and told the audience a personal yet universal story. Because if we wish for a bright future on this planet, everyone gives a part to play in it. The power of youth is extraordinary!

💚Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support the performances, and thanks to everyone who helped make this experiment a successful project!
